I am baffled. What could be so interesting on my little housewife blog that would cause a bunch of cyberbullies to hack my site? I mean, really?
Was it my crab dip recipe? Maybe it was my not-so-subtle political musings? Perhaps they were Republican Russian Hackers. Maybe Mark Zuckerberg didn’t like the way I dissed Facebook a while back.
Either way, hacked I was. We’re talking completely shut down by my web hosting company. They even threatened to boot me altogether if I didn’t get my shit together. This was where I realized I should have taken more computer science courses in college and attended fewer keg parties. One hundred seventy-eight files were infected and I had no clue how to get rid of them. The help desk started throwing out terms like FTP and SSH and SSL and I started to sweat and hyperventilate.
So, I assembled paid a posse of nerds to take a look for me and assess the damage. I feared that 178 files had taken the site past the point of no return, and I would have to start over from scratch. And, considering that I drank wine while I wrote most of those posts the idea was daunting. But, the nerds took my money and got right to work nursing the blog back to health.
A few days later, I was still under quarantine, and received this update:

Your sites are very heavily infected and cleaning is taking a bit longer, however i’ll do my best to complete cleaning later today.

Very heavily infected?!?! Geez!! This is more serious than I thought. I must be under intense surveillance by the government for my ramblings. It’s probably that one post I wrote about the Christmas song, and now the feminists are intent on removing that content before the dawn of the next holiday season.
In the end, good ol’ Ned came through on his promise and today we are back up and running. I should probably heed their advice about additional security plug-ins and changing my passwords and stuff, but I like to live on the edge. The Russian Republicans will not bring me down!!!
